The coal mining industry of Vietnam has existed for slightly more than one hundred years.
There are huge coal reserves in Vietnam, especially in the Red River delta basin, in which coal lies over a total area of 3,500 square km and deposits are estimated at 210-300 billion tons lying 250-1,200m beneath the basin.
Various kinds of coal are mined in Vietnam, including peat, lignite, fat coal, and anthracite. Nearly 200 coal deposits have been explored with total reserves of almost 7 billion tons, of which anthracite and semi-anthracite account for approximately half. During oil and gas exploration, a brown coal field was discovered in the Northern delta with reserves of about several dozens of billion tons.
Vietnamese coal is exported to more than 30 countries and territories around the world, with China, Japan, Hungary, Thailand, and the Philippines being the top five countries.
We work with state-owned coal mines and exporters directly for our clients in China and Malaysia.
All serious enquiries are most welcome.
